For sure it is one of the best roads !

The most beautiful motorcycle road in Croatia, following the sea cost. On some places you are just a few meters from the sea water. Twisty road between Karlobag and Starigrad is spectacular. Sea on the one side and Velebit mountain on the other side. Also, you can find excellent restaurants and coffe bars to take a brake, some with a spectacular sea or golden sunset view. Gas stations you can find every 50-60 kilometers. During the summer season the traffic is very congested with tourists. The best time for driving is May and June when temperatures are over 20 deg C and with relaxing traffic.

Rode this road September 2011, absolutely fantastic. The surface is very good with lots of smooth medium fast corners . Watch out for the oncoming Croatian drivers, they seem to like straddling the white line on blind corners !!!!!!!!

A very special ride!

On the way you can visit the Rab island by boarding a ferry. Stop to swim these turquoise waters and visit the old town of Rab. Be careful not to leave the island too late otherwise you will find yourself riding most of the route at night which has an infinite number of hairpins. In fact I enjoyed every bit of it, total darkness, no one on the road and the first town is far. In the last part, on the way to Zadar, don't take the highway pass over the bridge and speed up these nice straights.

Route for all type of drivers and all type of bikes. There is continuosly sightseen towards to Adriatic see and lots of islands. Best period to ride a tour is spring or autumn.
