Need to get away from the missus and kids for the afternoon? This could be for you. It's a nice afternoon ride out that takes you away from the town of Arenys De Mar and up into the hills. Leave Arenys head north via the C61 which cuts through the Parc de Montnegre Corredor. There are some nice hairpins along this well surfaced route but watch out for tree sap and the odd branch or two which could ruin your whole day. You travel through a few strange towns with even stranger looking trees. When you get to the C35 take a left and then a right onto the Bv5301. You now start to see the hills in the distance of the Parc Natural De Montseny. The road steadily climbs and get twistier and more scenic. There are ample places to stop to take in the scenery but the best is yet to come. After you reach the top which is marked by a sign you start the descent down the other side. It gets real quick with some great flowing downhill hairpins that'll have your pegs scraping and your nerves jangling. We rode all the way to Tona and turned around and rode it in reverse. You could take the N141 from Tona across to Manressa and down to Barcelona via Montserrat if you have time. A lovely part of the world and a fun and a worthy afternoon ride out. I've done it twice now.
