Just a bit of fun if you are staying around or near Genoa and want to kill a couple of hours... get on the A10 Autoroute near the centre of Genoa... head west toward Savona, take the A26 (E25) North up and over the mountains on an extraordinary motorway. Great curves and one bend feels like you do 360º but a great piece of road.

After roughly 20 klms or so take the A7 east for a few miles, often very busy and a bit boring, but then take the A7 South following signs back to Genoa.

This bit of motorway/autostrada, as you near central Genoa is just insane and dangerous, it feels like you are driving around peoples flats and houses. I promise it will make you laugh in your helmet. At times you feel like you are only a couple of metres away from people cooking in their kitchens or watching the box in their living rooms.

Then back to where you started. The road surface on the last 10 klms (the last time I rode it) was very slick and in the wet was treacherous, be very careful if its raining...
