I did a big part of this road when I drove from Oslo to Gjøvik. Not very spectacular, as I thought it was too straight, too few corners. But those I could take were really fun! Take some good warm clothes with you as the wind can really pond you. Lots of speeding cams, but the GPS did its job, and those which werent visable on gps were really good visable.

Conclusion: not my favorite trip.

This route is mostly for those who travel South to North (or vice versa) and want to avoid E6 (which is fast, but really really boring motorway). The E4 is much more pleasant, but has a couple of drawbacks:
- It is HEAVILY policed, so do not speed unless you are willing to pay up, or even to loose your licence.
- It is not all that exciting, but at least it is better than the E6.

Half way between Oslo and Gjøvik there is a good Gas Station / Road side cafe. When you get to Lygnaseter, do yourself a great, big favour and stop to try out their Napoleon cake. It is one of the best around. See also www.napoleonskake.com or Vanilla Slice If it is warm you can sit outdoors and enjoy the serene view of the Lygna lake.
