NO, NO, NO! I didnt like this at all. Too narrow (one lane with cycle lanes both sides), VERY bumpy - I lost count of how many times my bollox hit the tank - suicidally blind corners, loads of two & sometimes 3 abreast cyclists in both directions and a set of very brutal speed bumps (drempels, a lovely dutch word) in blankenham. Thank the Lord I did the kamperzeedijk first, if Id come all that way just for this I would have been well dissapointed. I suppose if youre touring on a beemer and are sick of motorways, a slow tour down here might seem like fun but if you have a road rocket and want somewhere to test your sliders, avoid this one like the plague.
Nice short piece of road. If done several times its a piece of cake. In dutch: Lekker stukje rand van de vlakke Noordoostpolder, veel gereden en is niet de grootste uitdaging meer. Bij het dorp Blankenham veel bulten. Doorrijden vanaf blokzijl naar Vollenhove is ook de moeite waard!
We rode this on a ride out recently, and it was pretty good despite poor conditions, definitely one of only a few good ones in this part of the country.
This is undoubtably one of the best roads in the North of the Netherlands (the dijk roads quite often are), visibility here is good and although the road is narrow in places, it's well worth a look.
