Starting from Grosseto near the coast, the SS322 climbs into the hills. When I rode it in September 2010, parts of the section between Grosetto and Scansano had been freshly paved. Starting with fast sweepers, the twisties get tighter as you approach Scansano. Between Scansano and Manciano the road quality isn quite as good but, still enjoyable nevertheless. One of the most enjoyable stretches of my trip.
