This is still a great route. The road surface is uniformly excellent and has many truly involving sections . One of the highlights is the section from Melton to Oakham. The cops regularly stake-out the long ( and tempting ) stretch past Rutland Water which also has a healthy population of deer , so be warned. It is a busy road during the day but gets a lot easier evenings and early mornings.Weekends and bank holidays can get quite busy , particularly on the afore-mentioned section past Rutland Water. Lots of places to stop and a myriad of choices for further runs when you get to Melton , Oakham or Stamford
GeoffCEnjoyable run with ggod roads and plenty of stop off points. Also starts just outside my house!!!
TripletourerA good selection of tight and fast corners, through some relaxing surroundings. There are some villages en route, and be aware that there may be increased police presence after UK magazine RiDE recommended this route as one of it's favourites. Tuesday nights a popular night for a biker meet on this route.
